Good Faith Estimate

Pay the estimated amount on the day of service.

If you have a commercial health insurance plan, UpWords Speech charges you the estimated allowed amount on the day of service.

This estimate is based on your specific health insurance plan and varies between insurance companies. You'll be provided with your rate upon registration. A payment card is required for all services to charge that amount automatically on the day of your session.

What if the rate is more than my actual liability?

Your rate is adjusted after your insurance processes your claims and states your liability for each session. If you've paid more than your liability, we'll happily reimburse you or credit any following sessions.

Why can't we just wait for insurance to process the claims?

Insurance is slow. Claims can take 2-3 weeks to process after your appointment. If you have any questions about what you're liable for, always verify with your insurance company first.

Self-pay & reimbursement

Transparent rates, no surprise bills.

For families paying out-of-pocket, we offer clear self-pay rates discussed upfront, with no hidden fees and no billing surprises.

If your insurance is out-of-network, we'll provide superbills you can submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement.

Heads up: Coverage for speech therapy varies wildly by plan. Before your first session, we'll help you understand what your specific benefits look like so you can decide with full information.
Therapy Membership Plan

Don't see your insurance? We have a plan for that.

A predictable monthly rate for families whose insurance doesn't cover speech therapy, or who'd rather skip the insurance back-and-forth entirely.

  • You don't carry a health insurance plan
  • UpWords is out-of-network with your current plan
  • Your plan won't cover speech therapy services
  • You agree to pay the monthly rate on the first session of the month
